About Me
From a very young age I have had a great passion for languages. This passion has led me to wanting to document my native language. Since 2009 I have been promoting the use of Llanito in addition to advocating for the official recognition of Gibraltar’s multilingual status including Llanito. Additionally, I have a great interest in minority and/or regional languages. I advocate for their recognition in their respective countries and that Article 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is upheld: “In those States in which ethnic, religious or linguistic minorities exist, persons belonging to such minorities shall not be denied the right, in community with the other members of their group, to enjoy their own culture, to profess and practise their own religion, or to use their own language” I hold a degree in Modern Languages and European Studies in addition to having a Master's in Communication Studies and Specialised Translation (English ↔ Spanish). ¿Quién soy?
Desde una muy temprana edad he tenido una gran pasión por los idiomas. Esta pasión me ha llevado a querer documentar mi lengua materna. Desde el 2009 he estado promoviendo el uso del llanito además de abogar por el reconocimiento oficial del estatus multilingüe de Gibraltar y que este reconocimiento también incluya al llanito. Asimismo, tengo un gran interés por las lenguas minoritarias y/o regionales y abogo por que sean reconocidas en sus respectivos países y que se cumpla el artículo 27 del Pacto Internacional de Derechos Civiles y Políticos: “En los Estados en que existan minorías étnicas, religiosas o lingüísticas, no se negará a las personas que pertenezcan a dichas minorías el derecho que les corresponde, en común con los demás miembros de su grupo, a tener su propia vida cultural, a profesar y practicar su propia religión y a emplear su propio idioma” Soy licenciado en lenguas modernas y estudios europeos además de tener un máster en ciencias de la comunicación y traducción especializada (inglés ↔ castellano).
